“Walking conditioned sight, and sight conditioned walking, till it seemed only the feet could see.” – Robert Smithson
What if our feet were (or had) eyes?
This workshop, led by artist Massao Mascaro, explores the body as a tool for writing, to see how our movements trace out an imperceptible line or figure in space until a path is completed. Time and space structure this experience, similarly to the photographic process. Over three days, walking will be our tool for exploring and interacting with Geneva’s landscapes, offering a simultaneous reading and writing of the space. As in a game, we will begin by establishing a few rules to guide our gaze and our photographs, inviting us to observe and photograph the places to which our steps lead us.
Hours:
Friday 26 June from 14:00 to 16:00
Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June from 10:00 to 16:30
Places are limited and registration is necessary by 21 June 2026 via the online form.
