He followed the Ethiopian revolution, the civil war, and the military regime of the 1970s and 1980s, and also documented the military dictatorship under Mengistu Haile Mariam and the progressive urban planning measures of the Haile Selassie era. He has presented the transformation of the city of Addis Ababa in exhibitions as well as the city’s newspapers and magazines, such as Zena Mazegavabet, Kenema lisan, and Addisababachin.
